Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) has emerged as the most-streamed music film of all time on Disney+ in its first three days with a whopping 4.6 million views, the streamer announced on Tuesday.
“Thank you for an ✨enchanting✨ weekend. Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) is the #1 music film ever on Disney+ based on views in its first 3 days,” the streaming platform wrote with a reference to Taylor’s 2010 song Enchanted alongside a clip from the concert film.
The video stitches together clips from various live performances from Taylor’s The Eras Tour while her song You Are in Love from her album 1984 plays in the background. “This has been the most extraordinary experience of my entire life. That’s only because of you that I get to do that. So, thank you,” the Lover singer says in the video.
Directed by Sam Wrench, The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) has grossed more than USD 261 million worldwide at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing concert film ever. Wrench has previously helmed concert films of renowned musicians like Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Lizzo and the Korean boy-band BTS.
The three-and-a-half-hour-long film was streamed for over 16.2 million hours during the weekend on Disney+.
Taylor’s version of this concert film includes the song Cardigan from her 2020 album Folklore and four additional acoustic songs, which were not available on the theatrical release and are played after the credits roll in the OTT version.
The Eras Tour kicked off on March 17 last year in Glendale, Arizona following the debut of Taylor’s tenth studio album Midnights in 2022. The tour is scheduled to conclude on November 23 this year in Toronto, Canada.
The Eras Tour is the sixth ongoing stadium concert by Taylor, who described it as a journey through all of her musical “eras”. It is her most extensive tour till date with 146 shows across five continents after the Reputation Tour in 2018.
The Blank Space singer recently closed a leg of The Eras Tour with her series of six live shows at the Singapore National Stadium. “We got to play 6 shows in Singapore for the most wonderful crowds - just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who travelled and put so much effort into being at our shows,” Taylor wrote alongside an Instagram carousel carrying pictures from the Singapore stage, starting with a monochrome one to match the aesthetic of her upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department.
Taylor’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which she announced at this year’s Grammy Awards, is slated to release on April 19.
