Taylor Swift’s latest album The Tortured Poets Department became the most streamed album on Apple Music, announced the music streaming platform on Tuesday.
“We had @taylorswift‘s THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY on repeat. You? #AppleMusicReplay,” the streaming platform wrote on Instagram.
Swift took to her Instagram stories to celebrate the moment and thank her listeners. Sharing the post, she wrote, “Ahhhhhh thank you for listening to my music and TTPD so much!!!! You, the fans, made The Tortured Poets Department the TOP STREAMED ALBUM of The Year on @applemusic!!! You guys snagged me that Top Streamed Artist spot too.”
Released on April 19, The Tortured Poets Department has also crossed one billion streams on Spotify. It became the most-streamed album on Amazon Music on the day of its release.
The Blank Space singer announced the release of her new album in her acceptance speech at the 66th Grammy Awards after receiving the Golden Gramophone for best pop vocal album for Midnights this year.
The Tortured Poets Department consists of 16 tracks and a bonus song titled Fortnight. The music video of Fortnight, also featuring the American singer and rapper Post Malone, was released on April 19.
Swift is currently performing in the last leg of her Eras Tour in the US. Her last three Eras Tour shows will take place from December 6 to December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.
