Taylor Swift has dropped four ‘previously unreleased’ songs ahead of her Eras US tour kickoff. Hours before releasing the songs on YouTube at midnight, the American singer-songwriter shared the surprise with her fans via an Instagram story.
“In celebration of The Eras Tour I’m releasing 4 previously unreleased songs tonight at midnight,” Swift wrote.
The four tracks include re-recordings of Hunger Games songs Eyes Open (Taylor’s version) and Safe & Sound featuring Joy Williams and John Paul White. If This Was a Movie from Speak Now was also re-recorded and released along with a completely new song — All of the Girls You Loved Before.
It seems Swift has gone personal with All of the Girls You Loved Before, a vault track from her 2019 album Lover, as the song alludes to her boyfriend Joe Alwyn’s past relationships. With lyrics like All of the girls you've loved before (Ooh) / Made you the one I've fallen for / Every dead-end street led you straight to me, the song talks about all the girls who had come into Alwyn's life before Swift.
The 12-time Grammy winner is currently gearing up for the US leg of her Eras tour, which will begin on March 17 with back-to-back shows in Glendale, Arizona.
Swift shared some candid moments on her Instagram story, showing her parents gluing on crystals on her guitar for the tour. The Love Story singer also shared a set of rehearsal photos with the caption “In my Eras era”, adding to the excitement of fans.
Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers, Girl In Red, Gayle and other musicians will be joining Swift as supporting acts throughout the tour. Tracks from the singer’s latest album Midnights, released in October last year, will be included in the playlist for her upcoming tour.
