Artist management startup TalentWala celebrated their first anniversary on 16 March. The founders of the company Anirban Adhikary, Abhijit Dey and Angel Jose spoke to us and gave insights on their journeys, how the entertainment industry has been functioning in the post-pandemic era and their challenges and visions. Starting off with a very small team in Kolkata and Mumbai, they feel proud that in one year, TalentWala could do 60+ employments with overall 45+ team members.
"The entertainment industry is booming with many young and bright kids being extremely passionate and innovative about this industry. Today TalentWala has swanky offices in Kolkata, Mumbai, Surat and they even have setup an office at Dhaka, Bangladesh. Artist management has changed radically in the last 2-3 years, with artists giving extreme priorities on their security, logistics, hospitality, technicals, production etc, apart from regular event bookings," said founder Anirban Adhikary.
That is where TalentWala has wanted to specialise where they feel artist management is not just another service, it is a growing industry all together requiring multiple specialised and experienced services. They managed to achieve phenomenal numbers in the last year, bringing a nice balance between the live and digital industry. The internal team calculated an overall 763 artist bookings with 150+ unique talents, not only Pan India, but across 9 different countries, brand & influencer campaigns involving 500+ unique content creators, social media management, content production etc and successfully servicing many prestigious clients across the country. TalentWala also curated 4 big music festivals across the country, and have succeeded in working with most of the celebrities in the country - Sonu Nigam, Jubin Nautiyal, Amit Trivedi, Salim Sulaiman, Kailash Kher, Farhan Akhtar, Rashmika Mandana, Tisca Chopra, Darshan Raval, Javed Ali etc - to name a few. They also exclusively represent the management and bookings of a few prominent artists like Samir Kochar, Euphoria, Fossils, Hriday Gattani, Antara Mitra, QK, Underground Authority, Sauraseni Maitra, Alivia Sarkar, Ananya Chakraborty, Ujjaini and a few other boutique talents. Becoming members of EEMA ( Event & Entertainment Management Association of India) & AMAI ( Artist Management Association of India) have helped them a lot and they have got a lot of support from the artist and event fraternity, contributing to their growth - as quoted by the founders. TalentWala feels entertainment industry is fast expanding and evolving and it is soon set to become one of the biggest and most thriving industries in the country. Overall, they enjoy every moment of their work and are all set to continue their dream run.
