Fans who missed actress Tabu in the first teaser for Dune: Prophecy, were finally rewarded with a brief glimpse of the actor in the second teaser of the prequel series for Dune, dropped by the makers on Thursday.
Set 10,000 years before the events of Dune and the emergence of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy, the prequel focuses on the Harkonnen sisters Valya (Emily Watson) and Tula (Olivia Williams), as they establish the Bene Gesserit, a formidable all-female order with exceptional abilities.
“True power begins with control. The new HBO Original Series #DuneProphecy premieres this November on Max,” the streamer wrote on X while sharing the one-minute teaser.
The new teaser opens with a voiceover from senior sisters guiding newcomers on the essential mastery of self-control before attempting to sway the Great Houses. They also warn the new joinees that greater power brings more adversaries.
Soon after, the Queen is shown cautioning the emperor about the sisterhood’s growing power, while the Bene Gesserit remain steadfast in their mission to cement their dominance. Valya declares, “sacrifices must be made” to protect the imperium.
Tabu makes a fleeting appearance in the teaser as Sister Francesca, dressed in a black robe with a cape on her back. She has her hands folded and looks sternly at the camera.
Dune: Prophecy draws inspiration from the novel Sisterhood of Dune, penned by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The series also stars Jodhi May as Empress Natalya. The cast includes Travis Fimmel, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Aoife Hinds, Chloe Lea, and Faoileann Cunningham.
This HBO original series is set to premiere in November. In India, the series will stream on JioCinema.
