Actress Taapsee Pannu, currently in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, celebrated the Indian men’s hockey team’s entry into the semi-finals with her husband Mathias Boe. Here’s a look.
Taapsee and Mathias, who tied the knot in March this year, had some fun playing hockey after India beat Great Britain in a penalty shoot-out to enter the sem-ifinals. They were seen holding hockey sticks and rolling the ball around. Mathias acted as a coach for the Indian men’s badminton team in this year’s Olympics.
On her last day in Paris, Taapsee swapped a traditional blouse for a striped black-and-white jersey top, pairing it with a vibrant yellow sari. A stack of golden bangles, black wayfarers and a messy bun complemented her look.
Taapsee rooted for the Indian men’s hockey team from the gallery with a mini Indian flag. “What a wonderful bright day it was at the Olympics, and what a fun game to watch before leaving Paris. Spending almost a week in Paris watching the games has truly been an experience of a lifetime,” she wrote on Instagram.
The actress, who will be seen in Netflix’s Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, supported her husband after the latter announced his retirement from coaching shortly after the Indian men’s badminton team faced defeat in the doubles quarterfinals in Paris. “Now you’re a married man. You need to take a step back. I need to come home from work every day to prepare dinner and tidy up. So chop chop,” she commented on Mathias’s post.
On the work front, Taapsee will also star in Mudassar Aziz’s Khel Khel Mein, scheduled to release theatrically on August 15. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Ammy Virk and Vaani Kapoor.
Taapsee and Mathias signed their names on the Olympics board. A social media user commented, “Boe aur hamari ‘soorma’,” referring to the 2018 biographical drama Soorma in which Taapsee had portrayed the role of Harpreet Kaur, a budding female hockey player.
