Sutapa Sikdar drops never-before-seen childhood photos of Babil with his late father Irrfan

Irrfan, known for movies like Life of Pi and Maqbool, passed away on April 29, 2020 due to cancer

Sutapa Sikdar on Friday shared never-before-seen childhood photos of son Babil Khan with his late father Irrfan in a monochrome video, reminiscing about the good old days when Babil was growing up.

“Awwww! Pls get me this boy back!!thank you Sid Siva for this amazing throw back! I remembered the William Blake poem looking at them.,” wrote Sutapa alongside the video on Instagram, quoting lines from William Blake’s 1789 poem The Little Boy Lost.

Reacting to the post, photographer, filmmaker and screenwriter Sooni Taraporevala wrote “Wonderful! Beautiful! Your photos? ,” in the comment section.

Fans also flooded the comment section expressing their love. “So beautiful .. the poem I can feel the same,” one of them wrote.

Irrfan, known for movies like Maqbool, Haider, Paan Singh Tomar, Life of Pi and The Lunchbox, passed away on April 29, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.

The Song of the Scorpions, which hit the screens last year, was Irrfan Khan’s last theatrical release.

Babil made his acting debut with the Netflix film Qala opposite Triptii Dimri in 2022. The 26-year-old actor was last seen in the Shiv Rawail-directed Netflix series The Railway Men in 2023. The show, which also features Divyendu Sharma, Kay Kay Menon and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles, marked Babil’s web series debut.

Babil was last seen in the music video of Jasleen Royal’s latest single Dastoor, also featuring Neena Gupta and Jackie Shroff.
