Actress Sushmita Sen has flaunted her sword-fighting skills and martial arts moves during an intense training session for the third season of Disney+Hotstar’s crime thriller series Aarya.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, the 47-year-old actress revealed that she was currently learning Kalaripayattu, an Indian martial art form that originated in Kerala, for her titular role in the action-packed show. The Main Hoon Na actress also posted a picture of herself with her arms crossed over her chest. “I love the principles of #martialarts Subconsciously, I actually live by them!!! On March 2, Sushmita had suffered a heart attack on March 2 and had to undergo angioplasty. She has been posting glimpses of her road to recovery on Instagram since then.
Co-created by Ram Madhvani and Sandeep Modi, Aarya is based on the Dutch drama series Penoza. In the series, Sushmita takes over his husband’s illegal business after his death to keep her two children safe. She has to battle crime lords and law enforcement agencies to escape the country and start a new life.
Aarya also features Sikandar Kher, Ankur Bhatia, Alexx ONell, Namita Das, Vikas Kumar and Manish Choudhary. Last year, the Disney+ Hotstar show was nominated for International Emmy Awards for Best Drama series.
