“Not married and unconditionally surrounded by love,” Sushmita Sen said in a revealing Instagram post on Friday, a day after former Indian Premier League chairperson Lalit Modi set social media abuzz with a tweet on his relationship with the Bollywood actress.
The Aarya star, who did not comment on Thursday night when Modi made his revelation, took no names in her post, in which she shared a photograph with her daughters -- Renee and Alisah.
“I’m in a happy place! Not married... no rings... and unconditionally surrounded by love. Enough clarification given... Now back to life and work! Thank you for sharing in my happiness always ... And for those who don’t... it’s #NOYB anyway. I love you guys!” the 46-year-old actress captioned her post.
Fans along with known celebrities like Rajeev Masand and Gauhar Khan showed their support for Sen’s decisions through their comments.
Sen’s clarification post came shortly after the 56-year-old founder of IPL took to social media and revealed his supposed relationship with the actress. He shared both throwback pictures with Sen as well as some pictures of the two on holiday together in Maldives and Sardinia. He referred to Sen as his “better half” in the post about their budding romance.
On Twitter, he first wrote, “Just back in London after a whirling global tour #maldives #sardinia with the families - not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 - a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon.”
Shortly after his first post, he clarified, “Just for clarity. Not married - just dating each other. That too it will happen one day.”
On his Instagram page, Modi also shared throwback pictures with Sen with the same caption as the first Twitter post. The caption was later edited to add the clarification offered by the second tweet.
Both Modi and Sen confirmed that the two were not married. The businessman’s post hinted at future nuptials but the actress stayed away from commenting on it.
