Tamil star Karthi is set to headline C. Prem Kumar’s Meiyazhagan, his elder brother actor-producer Suriya Sivakumar announced on Karthi’s 47th birthday on May 25, sharing two posters of the upcoming film.

Meiyazhagan will be produced by Suriya and his wife Jyotika under their home banner 2D Entertainment.

One of the posters shows Karthi looking into the eyes of a bull and grinning. The second poster, shared by Suriya, features Karthi on a bicycle with Arvind Swami.

The posters were also shared by Karthi, who decoded the meaning of the title in his caption. “#Meiyazhagan= Meiy+Azhagan Beauty is always what’s in our hearts. #மெய்யழகன்,” read the actor’s note on X.

Meiyazhagan marks C. Prem Kumar’s return to the director’s chair after six years since the release of 2018’s ‘96. Govind Vasantha will be composing the music for the Karthi and Arvind Swamy-starrer.

Suriya will soon be seen in Siva's Kanguva, where he plays a double role. The fantasy action film marks the Tamil cinema debut of actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani and also stars Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar and B. S. Avinashin key roles. Kanguva is set to release later this year in standard, 3D, and IMAX formats.

Suriya also confirmed a cameo appearance in the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru titled Sarfira, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead.
