Suriya and Bobby Deol’s upcoming period action drama Kanguva will hit theatres on October 10, the former announced on Thursday alongside a new poster of the Siva directorial.

“Dear all. It’s 10th October 2024,” the 48-year-old actor wrote on X.

In the poster, Suriya’s ruthless warrior stands atop a pile of corpses and holds his sword up in the air. Flames erupt in the background.

Apart from Suriya and Bobby, the film also features Disha Patani and Yogi Babu in important roles.

“A story that travels 500 years from 1700’s to 2023 about a Hero who has to fulfil a mission left unfinished. #Kanguva available post-theatrical release,” reads Prime Video’s official synopsis of the film, shared during the announcement of its content slate in March. Kanguva will be streaming on Prime Video following its theatrical release.

Touted as a “saga of a mighty valiant hero”, Kanguva will feature Suriya in six different roles. The movie will be released in 10 languages including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.

Produced jointly under the banner of Studio Green and UV Creations, Kanguva will clash with Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, which is also releasing on the same day. It will also clash with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, which will arrive in cinemas on October 11.

While its cinematography is by Vetri Palanisamy, Devi Sri Prasad has worked with the soundtrack of the film.
