Suriya’s upcoming period-action drama Kanguva, which marks the Tamil cinema debut of Disha Patani and Bobby Deol, will hit theatres on November 14, production house Studio Green announced on Thursday.

“The Battle of Pride and Glory, for the world to witness‍. #Kanguva's mighty reign storms screens from 14-11-24,” the makers wrote on X (formerly Twitter) alongside a new motion poster of the film.

Set to the sound of a tiger’s roar and the pulsating beats of a background score, the poster features Suriya’s Kanguva as a fierce warrior, facing off against Bobby Deol’s Udhiran, who appears equally formidable.

The film was originally scheduled for release on October 10.

A trailer dropped by the makers on August 12 offered a glimpse of the intense conflict between Kanguva and Udhiran.

In addition to Suriya, Bobby and Disha, Kanguva features Jagapathi Babu, Natty Natarajan, KS Ravikumar and Kovai Sarala in key roles.

Directed by Siva, Kanguva is a period fantasy drama that intertwines the past with the present.

"A story that travels 500 years from the 1700s to 2023 about a hero who has to fulfil a mission left unfinished," reads Prime Video’s official synopsis of the film, shared during its content slate announcement in March.

Kanguva will stream on Prime Video after its theatrical release.

Touted as a "saga of a mighty valiant hero", Kanguva will feature Suriya in six different roles. The movie will be released in two parts in 10 languages including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.

While the film's cinematography is by Vetri Palanisamy, Devi Sri Prasad has composed the soundtrack for the actioner.

As per media reports, Kanguva’s release date may have been pushed to avoid a box-office clash with Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan.
