In a much-anticipated announcement, filmmaker Karan Johar has revealed the star cast and release date of his upcoming production Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari on Instagram. The romantic comedy, directed by Shashank Khaitan, is set to hit theaters on April 18, 2025, and features Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles.
“A kahaani of ‘Sanskari’ & his to-be ‘Kumari’! This love story wrapped with entertainment is coming to the big screens! #SunnySanskarikitulsikumari in cinemas, 18th April 2025!” wrote Karan on Instagram.
On February 21, Dharma Movies had posted a teaser video with the caption, “A new love story is planted and it's full of (sun)-shine! Stay tuned!” The video, which said ‘directed by SK’ in the credits, fuelled speculations that Shashank Khaitan would be helming the project.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari marks the second collaboration between Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, following their pairing in the romantic drama Bawaal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, last year.
Janhvi will be next seen in Ulajh alongside Gulshan Devaiah. The Mili actress is also set for her Telugu cinema debut with Devara, alongside Jr. NTR, slated for release later this year. On the other hand, Varun Dhawan will feature in the action drama Baby John, directed by Kalees and supported by Altee.
