Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 mints Rs 376.70 crore, beats Pathaan’s 10-day collection at box office

Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 joins the Rs 100-crore club in its second weekend

Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 remained the first choice among moviegoers over the weekend, earning more than triple the amount collected by Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2.

Also featuring Utkarsh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa and Simratt Kaur in key roles, Gadar 2 began its second week in theatres with a collection of Rs 20 crore nett on Friday. It minted Rs 71.57 crore on Saturday and Sunday, taking the film’s total collection so far to Rs 376.70 crore nett after the second weekend since its release.

Gadar 2 has now surpassed the 10-day collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan at the domestic box office. The Siddharth Anand-helmed spy action thriller had minted Rs 374 crore nett in 10 days, as per Box Office India figures.

In the face of the Gadar 2 storm that took over the domestic box office, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 did decent business, breaching the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office in its second weekend. The Amit Rai-directed satirical comedy began its second week at the theatres with a collection of Rs 5.50 crore nett on Friday, followed by Rs 23.28 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday. The 10-day collection of OMG 2 now stands at Rs 114.36 crore nett.

While Gadar 2 and OMG 2 drew the audience to threatres,

R. Balki-helmed biographical drama Ghoomer bombed at the box office despite earning good reviews. It managed to collect approximately only Rs 0.90 crore nett on its opening day, followed by Rs 1.20 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 1.40 crore nett on Sunday. The total three-day collection of Ghoomer now stands at Rs 3.5 crore nett.
