Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 went on to become the second-highest Week 1 grosser among Hindi films released in 2023, only lagging behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, with a total collection of Rs 283.85 crore nett, reports Box Office India.

The Siddharth Anand-directed spy action thriller, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, had managed to mint Rs 328.5 crore nett in seven days.

Released on August 11, Gadar 2 registered an opening day collection of Rs 40.10 crore nett, followed by Rs 43 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 51.70 crore nett on Sunday. The movie experienced a slight dip in collections on Monday (Rs 38.70 crore nett) but earned a humongous Rs 55.40 crore nett on Tuesday, which was a holiday on the occasion of Independence Day. It minted Rs 32.37 crore nett on Wednesday and an additional Rs 22.5 crore nett on Thursday.

The Anil Sharma-helmed action entertainer, which also features Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, has grossed Rs 338.50 crore worldwide so far.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi-starrer OMG 2 ended its first week of theatrical run by minting Rs 5.75 crore nett on Thursday, taking the film’s seven-day total collection to Rs 85.22 crore nett. OMG 2 has grossed Rs 117 crore worldwide in the first week.

The Amit Rai-helmed satirical comedy managed to rake in Rs 10.26 crore nett on the day of its release. It minted Rs 15.3 crore nett and Rs 17.55 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. OMG 2 collected Rs 12 crore nett on Day 4, followed by Rs 17.10 crore nett on Tuesday and Rs 7.20 crore nett on Wednesday.
