After taking the domestic box office by storm, the Gadar 2 juggernaut at last is showing signs of slowing down just before its first fortnight in cinemas, staying tantalisingly close to the Rs 400-crore mark in terms of its total collection.
Box Office India figures suggest that the Sunny Deol-starrer earned Rs 10.75 crore nett on the 12th day after release, raking in Rs 399.35 crore nett in total so far. Also starring Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, the film earned a humongous Rs 284 crore nett in its first week.
The Anil Sharma directorial minted Rs 20 crore nett on second Friday, followed by Rs 70 crore nett over the second weekend. It remained strong on the second Monday too, raking in Rs 13.50 crore nett on Day 11.
On the other hand, Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2 crossed the Rs 120-crore milestone at the domestic box office by minting Rs 3 crore nett on Day 12. The Amit Rai-helmed satirical comedy has earned Rs 120.42 crore nett in India so far.
After raking in Rs 85 crore nett at the domestic box office in the first week, OMG 2 began its second week at the theatres with a collection of Rs 5.50 crore nett on Friday, followed by Rs 23.28 crore nett over the second weekend. Also starring Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles, the movie minted Rs 3.75 crore nett on Monday.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher-starrer Ghoomer has turned out to be a dud at the box office. The R. Balki-helmed biographical drama could only collect approximately Rs 4 crore nett in five days, as per trade reports.
