Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 earns Rs 304 crore at box office, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 inches closer to Rs 100-crore mark

Gadar 2 is the second Hindi film in 2023 to achieve this milestone after Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer Gadar 2 breached the Rs 300-crore mark at the domestic box office with a collection of Rs 20 crore nett on Friday, while Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 inched closer to the Rs 100-crore mark, according to trade reports.

As per latest data with Box Office India, Gadar 2, helmed by Anil Sharma, has collected Rs 304 crore nett in India so far. Amit Rai-directed OMG 2, on the other hand, has earned Rs 90.50 crore nett in its eight-day theatrical run.

Gadar 2 registered a phenomenal opening day collection of Rs 40.10 crore nett on the day of its release. The film had a solid first weekend, minting Rs 95 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday. The movie remained strong during weekdays, too, earning Rs 149 crore nett from Monday to Thursday, taking its Week 1 collections to Rs 284 crore nett.

OMG 2, also starring Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi in important roles, began its second week at the theatres with a collection of Rs 5.50 crore nett on Friday. As per trade reports, the satirical comedy earned Rs 10.26 crore nett on its opening day, followed by Rs 33 crore nett over the weekend. It minted Rs 42 crore nett during the weekdays, taking the film’s Week 1 collections to Rs 85 crore nett.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher-starrer Ghoomer failed to make a mark at the box office on its opening day. The R. Balki-helmed biographical drama collected approximately Rs 1.50 crore nett on Friday, according to Box Office India.
