Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer Gadar 2 hit the highest Day 6 collection for a Bollywood movie with Rs 33.5 crore nett on Wednesday, almost four times the earning of Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 on the same day, reports Box Office India.
Gadar 2, which released on August 11, registered an opening day collection of Rs 40.10 crore nett. The Anil Sharma directorial minted Rs 43 crore nett on Saturday, followed by Rs 51.70 crore nett on Sunday. The movie experienced a slight dip in collections on Monday (Rs 38.70 crore nett) but earned a humongous Rs 55.40 crore nett on Tuesday, which was a holiday on the occasion of Independence Day. With its Wednesday collection, the actioner has so far minted Rs 262.48 crore nett at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi-starrer OMG 2 managed to cross the Rs 80-crore mark on Day 6 by earning Rs 7.75 crore nett on Wednesday. This brings the film’s total earnings over the first six days to Rs 80.02 crore nett.
The Amit Rai-helmed satirical comedy earned Rs 10.26 crore nett on the day of its release, followed by Rs 15.3 crore nett and Rs 17.55 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. OMG 2 collected Rs 12 crore nett on Day 4 and Rs 18.50 crore nett on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani minted only Rs 1.40 crore nett on Wednesday. The Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh-starrer romantic drama has earned Rs 139 crore nett in India in 20 days and grossed Rs 291 crore worldwide.
