Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta have wrapped up shooting for Aamir Khan Productions’ Lahore 1947, helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi, said a source close to the makers on Monday.
"The shooting for Lahore 1947 has concluded after an intensive 70-day schedule. The schedule has been completed without taking any breaks. It's been a fantastic experience to see stalwart actors bring a magical quality to the film,” the source said.
“Once the edit will be locked, there will be a few days of patchwork… but largely the film has finished shooting. Raj Ji (Rajkumar Santoshi) has been very excited with what they have been able to capture. There have been several crowd sequences that have been shot," added the source further.
In a recent update, the makers revealed that the film features a breathtaking train sequence—one of the most ambitious and elaborate scenes ever attempted in a Partition-era film.
The film will also feature Ali Fazal, Karan Deol, Mithun Chakraborty and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles and is likely to hit the theaters in January 2025.
Lahore 1947 marks Rajkumar Santoshi's reunion with Aamir Khan after Andaz Apna Apna (1994), and with Sunny Deol after Ghayal (1990) and Damini (1993).
