The Deols, including Sunny and Bobby Deol, have come together on social media to wish their senior-most member Dharmendra on his 88th birthday on Friday.
Sunny Deol, who delivered a blockbuster this year with Gadar 2, wished the veteran actor with two pictures of the father-son duo. “Happy Birthday Papa Love You,” the elder son of Dharmendra wrote on Instagram.
Dharmendra’s younger son, Bobby, also shared pictures with his father. In the picture, the Animal actor is pecking his dad, clad in a light brown outfit, on the cheek. “Love you the most Papa❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Bobby wrote alongside the photos, adding how blessed he is to be his son.
Esha Deol, Dharmendra’s daughter with Hema Malini, also took to Instagram, penning a heartwarming note for her father. “Happy birthday my darling papa 🤗😘🧿♥️ love you. I pray for you to always be happy, healthy & strong 💪🏼♥️🧿👍🏼 I just love you so much 😍🧿,” she wrote.
Dharmendra's nephew Abhay Deol also shared a picture of Dharmendra from his young age on his Instagram Stories. “Happy birthday to my tayya @aapkadharam whom I lovingly call my papa!” he wrote.
Dharmendra’s grandson Karan Deol, who made his acting debut with the 2019 romance-drama Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, also shared a picture to wish the Sholay star. “Happy Birthday Bade Papa! Stay evergreen and the most wonderful and kindest soul in the world. Love you ❤️❤️❤️👼👼,” he wrote in the caption.
The Deols are currently going through a purple patch, which began with Dharmendra’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Helmed by Karan Johar, the Ranvir Singh-Alia Bhatt-led blockbuster featured the veteran actor in a key role. Sunny’s Gadar 2 went on to be one of the biggest films of the year, while Bobby’s Animal has gone on to become the third-highest Hindi grosser of 2023.
