Supervillains Harley Quinn, Joker and members of the Suicide Squad visit another world on a mission assigned to them by A.R.G.U.S. head Amanda Waller in the trailer of DC, Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio’s Suicide Squad Isekai anime.

Dropped by DC on Friday, the one-minute-23-second-long video begins with Harley Quinn asking ex-lover Joker about ever travelling to a different world. Joker, however, responds with his trademark laugh before replying, “Another world? I like it. That’s exactly what I want.” The video then gives a glimpse of the duo alongside other Suicide Squad members in a different world filled with blood-thirsty beasts.

Anna Nagase, known for voicing Riko Amanai from Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (2023), lends her voice for Harley Quinn in the anime. She is joined by Yuichiro Umehara, who is the voice actor for Joker’s character in the new anime.

The story of Suicide Squad Isekai has been written by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara, both creators of the 2021 sci-fi anime Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song. It is created by WIT Studio, the Japanese studio well-known for animating the first three seasons of Attack on Titan (2013-19), Spy x Family (2022) and Ranking of Kings (2022).

The opening theme of Suicide Squad Isekai is called Another World and is performed by Tomoyasu Hotei, who is best known for his song Battle Without Honor or Humanity, used in Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 feature film Kill Bill.

Suicide Squad Isekai anime will release in 2024.
