The 30th Kolkata International Film Festival will be held from 4 to 11 December KIFF

The 30th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is now accepting entries, the organisers announced on Thursday.

Filmmakers can head over to the official KIFF website (https://kiff.in/) to register and submit their films. The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2024.

“ Attention Filmmakers! The Kolkata International Film Festival is back for its 30th edition! Entries are now open. Don't miss the chance to showcase your talent on this prestigious platform. ,” the organisers wrote on the official Facebook page of the festival.

KIFF, organised by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department of West Bengal, will be held from December 4 to 11 in Kolkata. The prestigious film festival, accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations (FIAPF), is the third oldest film festival in the country.

Established in 1995, KIFF screens a diverse selection of films, including features, documentaries, and shorts. The festival also presents special sections on specific countries, retrospectives and children’s films, ensuring a well-rounded experience for all attendees.

Started off as a non-competitive festival, KIFF introduced competitive segments in 2017: International Competition, Competition on Indian Languages, Asian Select (NETPAC Award), Bengali Panorama, National Competition on Documentary, National Competition on Short Fiction. The best film receives a Golden Royal Bengal Tiger statuette along with a cash prize.

Last year, Israeli film Children of Nobody bagged the trophy.
