With their latest album Hop debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, K-pop boy band Stray Kids has now tied with BTS, Linkin Park and Dave Matthews for the most number of albums debuting at No. 1 on the platform, the US-based chart announced on Monday.
The band has also made history by having all of its first six albums reach the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, a feat no other artist has achieved in 69 years.
“@realstraykids score their sixth No. 1 on the #Billboard200 as ‘HOP’ debuts atop the list. The album is the sixth leader for the group, making the pop ensemble the first act to debut at No. 1 with its first six chart entries in the nearly 69-year history of the Billboard 200. Stray Kids now tie BTS, Linkin Park and Dave Matthews Band for the most No. 1s among groups on the chart in the 21st century,” Billboard wrote on Instagram.
Released on December 13, Hop is Stray Kids’ sixth album, which made history on Billboard Chart following their other albums — Oddinary (2022), Maxident (2022), 5-Star (2023), Rock-Star (2023), and Ate (2024).
Hop is the first mixtape by Stray Kids, released by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, with the track Walkin on Water, serving as the title track of the album. Other tracks in the album include Bounce Back, U (feat. TABLO), and Walkin On Water (hip-hop version).
The album also features bonus tracks from each member's solo performances during their World Tour — Railway (Bang Chan), Unfair (Felix), HALLUCINATION (I.N), Youth (Lee Know), So Good (Hyunjin), ULTRA (Changbin), Hold My Hand (HAN) and As We Are (Seungmin).
