Filmmaker Shawn Levy dropped a set of grayscale BTS pictures featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo from the sets of the Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things Season 5 on Saturday. Here’s a look.
Levy sits in the director’s chair, while Brown strikes a funny pose with a stream of fake blood trickling down her left nostril. The actress plays Eleven, a.k.a. Jane Hopper, a girl with psychokinetic and telepathic abilities in the Duffer brothers-created series.
Set in the fictional town of Hawkins in the 1980s, Stranger Things features McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, one of Eleven’s friends. The series opened with the disappearance of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp). The closing moments of Season 4 saw Eleven slaying Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), the murderous antagonist from an alternate dimension.
In the show, Matarazzo plays Dustin Henderson, whose cleidocranial dysplasia causes him to lisp. Besides Matarazzo, Brown and McLaughlin, Sadie Sink (Max), Finn Wolfhard, Bower and Schnapp will also reprise their roles in the upcoming season of Stranger Things. Additionally, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux and Terminator actress Linda Hamilton have joined the cast of Season 5.
The makers of Stranger Things started working on its fifth and final season on August 2, 2022, almost a month after Season 4 Volume 2 premiered on Netflix. The fourth season was released in two parts in May and July 2022. Season 5 of the series is slated to hit Netflix next year.
