It’s a busy day for filmmakers in Tollywood as two highly-anticipated projects went on floors today, in two different parts of India. Srijit Mukherji began shooting for the second season of Hoichoi series Feludar Goyendagiri, while director duo Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy called ‘action’ for their upcoming Durga Puja release, Bohurupi.
Feluda goes to Kashmir
Srijit Mukherjee is adapting Satyajit Ray’s novella Bhuswargo Bhayankar for the second season of Feludar Goyendagiri. The Hoichoi series will be shot extensively in Kashmir. Tota Roy Choudhury, Kalpan Mitra and Anirban Chakrabarti will be reprising their roles as Feluda, Topshe and Lalmohan Ganguly, respectively.
“It is time to meet the 14-year-old boy from Bhowanipore. It is time to dive back into memories of the maestro's sketches and unforgettable lines. It is time to turn the clock back. It is Feluda time. Finally,” the Autograph director posted on X alongside a photo of him against the backdrop of the mountains.
The first season of Feludar Goyendagiri saw Feluda, along with his cousin Topshe and friend Lalmohan Ganguly, solving a murder mystery in Darjeeling. Srijit was in Kashmir last month for a recce after wrapping the shoot of his upcoming film Tekka, slated to release during Durga Puja 2024.
Team Bohurupi in Bolpur
Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee chose a village setting for the first-day shoot of Bohurupi, starring Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty and Koushani Mukherjee. Shiboprosad also features in one of the key roles.
“Bohurupi begins its journey with the love and blessings of everyone. See you at cinemas this Durga Puja,” production house Windows wrote on Instagram, with a photo of a clapboard amidst a rural backdrop.
The director duo wrapped the shoot of their upcoming summer release Amaar Boss last month, which will mark the return of Rakhee Gulzar in Bengali cinema after a gap of over two decades.
Bohurupi will be Abir’s second collaboration with Nandita and Shiboprosad after Raktabeej. Ritabhari and Koushani will work with the directors for the first time.
