Srijit Mukherji’s Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei set for January 2025 release

An adaptation of Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, the film stars Kaushik Ganguly, Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Ritwick Chakraborty

Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei, directed by Srijit Mukherji, is set for a theatrical release on January 23, 2025, production house SVF announced on Saturday.

Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei features a stellar lineup of 14 renowned actors — Kaushik Ganguly, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Phalguni Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen, Anirban Chakrabarti, Rahul Banerjee, Ananya Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Kanchan Mullick, Ritwick Chakraborty, Arjun Chakrabarty, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Kaushik Kar and Samiul Alam.

The film is based on the play and film Ek Ruka Hua Faisla. Srijit’s adaptation presents characters that come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, political viewpoints, and sexual orientations.

A glimpse of the characters in the poster reveals the diversity of their personalities and backgrounds. Parambrata Chattopadhyay plays Satya, a queer character who sports traditional attire — a red kurta and large-framed glasses. Ananya Chatterjee’s Roopa is seen draped in an elegant silk sari, while Phalguni Chatterjee’s Habul brings to life a character from the lower-middle class.

Ritwick Chakraborty’s Sumit stands out in cream-colored kurta pajamas with a tilak on his forehead, while Arjun Chakrabarty portrays Koushik, a corporate employee dressed in formals. Kanchan Mullick’s character, Taposh, adds further diversity to the ensemble.

Srijit’s last theatrical release was Dev-starrer hostage thriller Tekka, which is slated to drop on Hoichoi later this month. The second season of Feludar Goyendagiri, Bhuswargo Bhoyonkawr, released on the streaming platform on December 20.
