Spy agent Loid Forger and his assassin-wife Yor’s pretend-family may dissolve unless their ‘telepath’ daughter Anya manages to keep their secret identities hidden from each other in the Spy x Family Season 2 trailer, dropped by Crunchyroll on Thursday.

The one-minute-52-second-long video begins with Loid watching television with his adopted daughter Anya. Things go smoothly for Loid and Yor as they go on their first date and Anya participates in school activities. However, the story turns into a new direction when Yor is offered a contract to kill a special person. “Is there actually a reason why I should continue my job as a killer?” she asks herself at the end of the trailer.

Based on the manga by Tatsuya Endo, Spy x Family is the story of the Forger family, put together by a spy named Loid Forger for his ultimate mission. What Loid does not know is that his wife, Yor, is an assassin and his adopted daughter, Anya, is a telepath.

This season will focus on Loid and Yor’s professions which make it difficult for them to stick to each other as a “happy family”. Anya, on the other hand, is desperate to save her family from being separated. The little girl is seen teaming up with Frankie, Loid’s partner, as she goes undercover to spy on her parents.

The first season of the comedy series came out in 2022 and became an instant hit. The upcoming season will feature an opening song titled Kura Kura by Japanese singer Ado and an ending theme titled Todome no Ichigeki by Vaundy featuring Cory Wong.

Spy x Family Season 2 will be streaming on Crunchyroll from October 7.
