From the second season of Spy x Family to the sci-fi suspense drama Pluto, anime-streaming platforms have an exciting lineup of new shows and highly-anticipated sequels in October. Here’s a look.

Spy x Family Season 2

Based on Tatsuya Endo’s manga, Spy x Family is the story of the Forger family, put together by a spy named Loid Forger for his ultimate mission. What Loid does not know is that his wife, Yor, is an assassin and his adopted daughter, Anya, is a telepath. The new season will focus on Yor’s dilemma when she gets a contract to kill someone special to her. Loid’s fake family members will find themselves getting attached to each other while their secret identities start interfering with their personal lives.

Tokyo Revengers Season 3

Tokyo Revengers follows 26-year-old Takemichi Hanagaki who takes up one job after another, becomes the butt of the joke of children and gets constantly criticised by his younger boss. When Takemichi learns that his middle school girlfriend was killed by a gang called the Tokyo Manji Gang, he experiences a near-death incident, which takes him back 12 years to his teenage days. He takes the opportunity to save his girlfriend and alter his destiny. In the upcoming season, Takemichi returns to the present, encountering new surprises resulting from his actions in the past.

Goblin Slayer Season 2

The dark fantasy series Goblin Slayer is set in a world where goblins are the weakest but also the most vicious and numerous monsters. The titular character Goblin Slayer’s sole purpose is to exterminate these creatures as his native village was massacred by them when he was a child. After its debut in 2018, the anime series shook audiences with its gory and controversial storyline. New members will join the Goblin Slayer team in the upcoming season as they embark on a mission to escort Archbishop Sword Maiden to safety.

Pluto

Swiss robot Montblanc is brutally murdered in a world where humans and robots coexist. Following this incident, a human also gets killed in Germany. Europol detective Gesicht investigates the murders and discovers a mysterious entity named Pluto. As the sleuth delves deeper, he unravels a web of conspiracy to dismantle robots who served in the 39th Asian War. Gesicht should now race against time to protect the remaining robots and deal with the fragile harmony between man and machine. The anime is an adaptation of Naoki Urasawa’s spin-off manga with a modern twist on Osamu Tezuka’s Astro Boy.

Dr. Stone season 3 part 2

Fans of sci-fi anime are in for a treat as the highly-anticipated sequel to Dr. Stone season 3 will be dropped this month. The new season will be based on the New World arc from Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi’s manga. The main story revolves around Senku who uses his scientific prowess to save humanity in a world that has been gone back to the Stone Age. In the upcoming season, Senku and his team will sail the seas to the other side of the world where the green light that turned humans into stone had originated.
