Look who we caught on camera in front of Victoria Memorial on Thursday morning! Chiranjeevi and Tamannaah are in Kolkata to shoot the Telugu film Bhola Shankar.

Early on Thursday, Chiranjeevi, accompanied by the cast and crew of the film — including director Meher Ramesh — canned some portions of the film, in which the veteran actor plays a taxi driver, in and around the Maidan.

Dressed in the kind of outfit that yellow taxi drivers in the city are known to wear, Chiranjeevi, looking fighting fit at 67, shot with a taxi. Tamannaah was dressed in a lawyer’s black uniform and carried a black handbag. The crew is supposed to shoot in Kolkata over the next few days, at locations like Kalighat, Chotelal Ghat, Tollygunge Tram Depot, Esplanade Tram Depot and various locations in North Kolkata.

Bhola Shankar — also starring Keerthy Suresh — is said to be an official remake of the 2015 Tamil film Vedalam in which Ajith played the part that’s being essayed by Chiranjeevi in the remake.

The first poster of Bhola Shankar — which showed Chiranjeevi sitting with swag and style in a yellow taxi — had fanned speculation that the superstar would be in Kolkata at some point to shoot the film.

The makers are eyeing an August release, coinciding with Chiranjeevi’s birthday. The actor’s last release was Godfather last year, in which Salman Khan and Nayanthara played supporting roles.
