‘Posh Spice’ Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party in London witnessed a reunion of British girl group Spice Girls with Halliwell-Horner, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm — known as Ginger, Scary, Baby and Sporty Spice respectively — performing their 1997 hit Stop with the birthday girl in tow.
Victoria shared a video of the Spice Girl members burning the dance floor in cocktail dresses and thigh-slit gowns on Sunday. Her husband, former English footballer David Beckham, recorded the video in selfie mode and sang along. “Best night ever! Happy Birthday to me! I love you all so much,” she captioned the video shared on Instagram.
Also sharing the video on his Instagram handle, David wrote in the caption, “I mean come on x @victoriabeckham @melaniecmusic @officialmelb @emmaleebunton @gerihalliwellhorner.”
Fans gushed over the Spice Girls reunion and talked about David in the comment section. “Bless David for being the husband that takes the important videos,” one of them wrote. “THE PURE JOY this has brought us all. the power of five,” another wrote, expressing his excitement over seeing girls performing together once again.
Victoria also shared pictures from the birthday bash attended by Hollywood star Tom Cruise, Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria and British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. “The best gift to be reunited!! Thank you to all my friends and family for celebrating with me. Kisses,” the singer-turned-fashion designer wrote alongside the photos.
The first picture features all the five singers in off-shoulder, one-shoulder and front-slit cocktail gowns. Victoria looked stunning in a pastel blue sheer gown featuring floral pleats around the helm. She wore her hair down and went for a dewy makeup.
The subsequent pictures show Victoria and David posing with Tom Cruise, Paraguayan model Nadia Ferreira and American singer-songwriter Marc Anthony.
Another Instagram carousel carries pictures of other guests like Eva Longoria, Internet personality Isabela Rangel Grutman, David’s sister Louise Adams, Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana Ramsay. “I don’t think I’ve ever felt as loved as I did last night. Thank you all for coming from near and so far,” Victoria captioned the pictures shared on Monday.
Formed in 1994, Spice Girls reached the pinnacle of popularity before being disbanded six years later. This year marks the band’s 30th anniversary.
The girl group recently reunited, sans Victoria, at the 2019 Spice World tour — their fourth concert tour that included performances in the UK and Ireland. The last time all the five members reunited was at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
