Cricket legend Muthiah Muralidaran was joined by former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly during the promotions of the upcoming biopic 800 in Kolkata on Thursday. The film, directed by M.S. Sripathy, is based on Muralidaran’s life story and is titled on the number of wickets he has taken in test cricket.

Speaking about the film, Muralidaran said, “It’s a story of my childhood and the struggles that I had to face in my personal and professional journey.”
Admitting that it was challenging to portray Murali on screen, Madhur said that he saw a lot of his videos and tried to learn the mannerism.
“We have played as rivals but he has been a great friend off the field. I admire him a lot,” Muralidaran said about Sourav Ganguly.

Helmed by M.S. Sripathy, 800 will release in theatres on October 6 in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.
