Actress Sonakshi Sinha has said she was born to play the strong and bold sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati in Prime Video crime mystery thriller series Dahaad.
“I believe I was born to play this role — it was one of my best experiences. Anjali Bhaati, who has received so much love from viewers and fans, is a problem-solver. Her commitment to her duty is unparalleled. She is like the women we encounter every day at home and work,” she elaborated.
Sonakshi, who had made her Bollywood debut alongside Salman Khan in Dabangg, said she finally got the chance to play a tough cop on her OTT debut with Dahaad, which has been streaming on Prime Video since May 12.
Highlighting the need for more strong, bold and ready-to-action women characters on screen, the actress also said it had taken her less than an hour to say ‘yes’ to the script. “And today I am so glad for this decision as every character is written with such compassion and authenticity that they resonate with our viewers. The time for powerful characters — strong, bold, and ready to action — is now, especially if they are women!”
