Newlyweds Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal have dropped cosy poolside pictures from what appears to be a resort following their June 23 wedding.
One of the pictures shows Sonakshi enjoying a glass of juice with her husband in a pool while the fluffy clouds and the soft light of the setting sun make for a breathtaking backdrop. Zaheer appears shirtless in the pictures, and Sonakshi seems to be wearing a black swimsuit, with her hair tucked into a neat bun.
Another picture captures their silhouettes gazing at the twilight.
The newlyweds also posed for a mirror selfie. Sonakshi looked gorgeous in a grey bodycon dress, paired with a matching shrug and metallic disc earrings. Zaheer, on the other hand, sported a white t-shirt and a silver chain. “What a beautiful day,” Sonakshi captioned the picture shared on her Instagram stories.
As per media reports, Sonakshi and Zaheer first met on the sets of 2017’s Notebook. The couple collaborated for the music video of the song Blockbuster, which was released in September 2022. Later, they co-starred in the comedy drama Double XL (2022).
Sonakshi and Zaheer registered their marriage at the actress’s sea-facing Bandra West apartment on June 23. They were surrounded by their loved ones, including Sonakshi's parents Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha and Zaheer’s dad Iqbal Ratansi. A video shared by the newlyweds shows that Sonakshi’s Heeramandi co-star Aditi Rao Hydari and her husband Siddharth were also present. Zaheer and Sonakshi’s Double XL co-star Huma Qureshi was also in attendance.
“Family, friends, love, friendship, laughter, silly comments, kids running around, happy tears, warm hugs, excitement, bloopers, screeches, fun, joy, anticipation, nerves, emotions, and above all just pure happiness. This was our chaotic little Shaadi ka ghar… and it was PERFECT… it was US,” the couple captioned the video on Instagram.
While Sonakshi looked gorgeous in an embroidered white sari, Zaheer twinned with his bride in a white kurta.
The newlyweds later hosted a reception for family, friends, and industry colleagues at a fine-dining restaurant in Dadar.
For the post-wedding festivities, Sonakshi wore a red Banarasi saree, while Zaheer sported a white jacket and matching trousers.
The reception was attended by several Bollywood celebrities, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bela Segal, Gulshan Devaiah, Reema Kagti, Padmini Kolhapure, Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, Siddharth Kak, Mudassar Aziz, Anil Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, Aanand L. Rai, Kajol, Saira Banu, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Ali Abbas Zafar, Raveena Tandon, Anees Bazmee, Vidya Balan, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Tabu.
Sonakshi was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s maiden web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar alongside Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh. The 37-year-old actress will soon be seen in Aditya Sarpotdar’s upcoming horror comedy Kakuda, alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem. Kakuda is slated to premiere on ZEE5 on July 12.
