Actress Sobhita Dhulipala on Monday shared pictures from the Godhuma Raayi Papasu Daanchtam ritual, which marks the beginning of her wedding festivities with actor Naga Chaitanya. Here’s a look at some moments from the ceremony which took place in Visakhapatnam.
Sobhita looked gorgeous in a peach Kanjeevaram sari featuring broad green and golden borders. She adorned her long braid with a gajra of jasmine flowers and opted for golden accessories and stacks of green bangles to complement her traditional attire.
A ritual observed in some parts of South India, particularly in Telugu-speaking communities, Godhuma Raayi Papasu Daanchtam typically involves measuring wheat flour and grains, symbolising abundance and prosperity. The wheat flour and grains are offered to the deities as a form of thanksgiving and prayer for future well-being, especially during important life events like weddings.
Sobhita kept her makeup subtle, opting for a black bindi and kohl-rimmed eyes to complete her look. The 32-year-old actress reportedly began dating Naga Chaitanya in 2022. However, they had never officially confirmed their relationship prior to their engagement.
During the ceremony, Sobhita was surrounded by her close friends and family, including her sister Samanta, who also attended her August 8 engagement in Hyderabad. The carousel captures Sobhita touching the feet of her elders and seeking their blessings.
“Godhuma Raayi Pasupu Daanchtam. And so it begins,” wrote the Love Sitara actress on Monday, sharing the pictures on Instagram.
