Team Raja Rani Romeo recently got together to launch the trailer of the KLIKK series. The romantic thriller is a melting pot of love, betrayal and revenge. Starring Arpan Ghoshal, Swikriti Majumder, Joyjit Banerjee, Jeet Sundor and Ratasree Dutta, the story of Raja Rani Romeo follows Imran Mondol (Arpan Ghoshal), who has been leading a quiet and peaceful life in the small town of Fulbari, using the alias of Mithun Das. He had fled his village to avoid persecution and has been living on scraps ever since. But as soon as Imran felt that he had found that eluding stability in life, a phone left behind by a customer in the dhaba he works at, changes everything. The woman (Swikriti Majumder) who comes to collect the phone the next day, sweeps Imran off his feet. Soon enough, that one primary meeting, leads to another.
“The audience response is incredibly exciting! It’s heartwarming to see that people are loving the chemistry between Swikriti and me, once again. The positive feedback from the trailer launch has created quite a buzz,” said Arpan.
“We’ve been swamped with very encouraging feedback after the song and trailer launch. This new year is special for me with the series launch. I was pretty kicked with the spontaneous audience response at the trailer launch, especially when my character arc traverses through myriad shades of twists and turns. It’s not often that a female protagonist gets to play such a well-etched author-backed character. Doing workshops with our director helped us immensely in etching out the multiple layers and complexities of character interplay. Our director is a very calm and cool-headed person, with infinite patience,” said Swikriti.
“Raja Rani Romeo is essentially a pulpy romantic thriller that narrates an unforeseen aspect of love, desire and power. The series is a complete masala entertainer filled with grey characters, dramatic twists and intense action. The feedback so far has been very positive and encouraging. I am getting a lot of congratulatory messages from the audience for bringing back a much-loved pair from TV,” said director Joydip Banerjee.
