Singham Again trailer has become the ‘most-watched Hindi film trailer in 24 hours’, garnering 138 million views across all platforms since its October 7 release, Ajay Devgn announced on Tuesday.
“Kaha tha na, itihaas dohrane wala hai! #SinghamAgain creates history all over again,” the 55-year-old actor wrote alongside a poster of the upcoming Rohit Shetty directorial.
The four-minute-58-second-long trailer promises a Ramayana-like saga featuring the team of modern-day cops — Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar. Also featuring Kareena Kapoor, whose character Avni gets abducted by Arjun Kapoor’s Ravan-like antagonist, the trailer introduces Singham’s fellow cops as contemporary characters from the epic.
The trailer opens with Singham and Avni’s son questioning Lord Ram's journey to Lanka to save Sita. Soon after, Avni is abducted by Arjun Kapoor’s crime syndicate involved in toxic medical waste trafficking, pushing Singham into action. What starts as a mission to expose the criminals turns into a rescue effort, with all the cops from the Singham universe joining forces.
Filled with high-octane action sequences, the trailer is interspersed with scenes depicting Lord Ram and Hanuman from the Ramayana, promising an actioner with a hint of Indian mythology.
Singham Again, the fifth film in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, is a sequel to the 2014 film Singham Returns. It is slated to hit theatres on November 1 and is likely to lock horns with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
This year, Ajay starred in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha alongside Tabu, the supernatural drama Shaitaan, Article 370 and the biographical sports drama film Maidaan. He has the films Raid 2, De De Pyaar De 2 and Son of Sardaar 2 in the pipeline.
