Actor Hrithik Roshan is set to reprise his role as Krrish in the fourth instalment of the Indian superhero franchise created by Rakesh Roshan, filmmaker Siddharth Anand confirmed on Wednesday, responding to an user’s post on X.
The user had shared a photo of Hrithik as Krrish with the caption, “Krrish is coming.” Siddharth replied in the affirmative in the comment section. “Yep! He is,” wrote the filmmaker whose recent movie Fighter starred Hrithik and Deepika Padukone.
Initially, the future of Krrish 4 was embroiled in uncertainties due to Rakesh’s health concerns, leaving fans wondering about the fate of the movie. But Siddharth’s recent confirmation has quelled such worries, affirming that Krrish 4 is indeed in the works.
Siddharth’s comment, however, triggered speculation as to whether he has taken over directorial duties from Rakesh Roshan for Krrish 4. If true, this would mark the fourth collaboration between Hrithik and Siddharth, following Bang Bang, War and Fighter.
Rakesh launched the Krrish franchise with his 2003 sci-fi drama Koi... Mil Gaya starring Hrithik and Preity Zinta. It revolved around Rohit, a young man with mental disability, who befriends an alien named Jadoo. Following the box-office success of the movie, Roshan made two sequels — Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013).
