Shweta Tiwari, well known on TV as Prerna in Balaji’s Kasauti Zindagi Ki, is back with AltBalaji’s Hum Tum Aur Them — a show about two single parents, Shiva and Yudi, who try to explain their new relationship to their children.

According to the show’s logline, Shweta’s Shiva is divorced with a 13-year-old daughter. Yudi (played by Akshay Oberoi) is a widower with three children. While the protagonists have their own share of problems with the kids, they find love again in each other.

Shweta is aware that her new image came as a surprise to many fans. “My diehard fans always want to see me as Prerna but at the end of the day I am an actor and I have to live different characters on reel. I want to request them to accept me as I am,” the actress said.

The role of Shiva in the AltBalaji show was, however, not easy for Shweta too - initially. She said: “I said yes to the script because it was new and different. When I went on the sets I realised that it was not going to be easy. Doing bold scenes with a stranger was something I had not anticipated.”
