Shrinking

Arriving on: January 27 When a psychiatrist decides to unload what’s on his mind, things can go bizarrely bizarre, like it does with Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel). The psychotherapist is undergoing a midlife crisis as well as facing personal grief while an alienated daughter is in the background. He has to listen to people whose problems suddenly appear less significant than his own. He goes rouge and tells his patients just what he thinks of them. The makers of Ted Lasso are expected to deliver plenty of hard-won moments of redemption and joining Segel are Jessica Williams and a grouchy Harrison Ford.

Dear Edward

Arriving on: February 3 Inspired by the 2020 novel by Ann Napolitano, the show is partially based on the Afriqiyah Airways Flight 771 crash of 2010. The story is one of resilience and over 10 episodes we find the sole survivor, 12-year-old Edward (Colin O’Brien), trying to find his place at his new address, that of his aunt, after losing his parents and elder brother. Relatives, family members and friends of the other passengers also try to get on with their lives, in the process of which unexpected truths pop up.

Hello Tomorrow!

Arriving on: February 17 The Apple Original dramedy stars Emmy and Critics Choice Award winner Billy Crudup. The visit to the moon is still years away while Jack, a salesman, tries to sell the idea of living on the moon. He believes that if something gets repeated time and again, people will believe it. Presented to the sound of the classic song Fly Me To The Moon, there are moments in the trailer when trouble is spotted at the seams of Jack’s utopian concept. What we learn from the trailer is that Jack’s plans involve a lot of money and some characters decide to investigate the community leader. Besides Crudup, the show features Hank Azaria and Dewshane Williams.

The Reluctant Traveler

Arriving on: February 24 It’s a travel show hosted by none other than Eugene Levy of Schitt’s Creek and American Pie fame. He visits some of the world’s most beautiful and intriguing destinations, experiencing thrilling local adventures with new friends, including immersing in a sound bath in the Maldives, ice floating in Finland, and connecting with the Navajo Nation in Utah but he’s not the regular travel show host.

Extrapolations

Arriving on: March 17 It will probably be the most starstudded show of the year featuring Meryl Streep, Tobey Maguire, Forest Whitaker, Diane Lane and Kit Harrington. Extrapolations shows a near future where the chaotic effects of climate change have become embedded into our everyday lives. Eight interwoven stories about love, work, faith and family from across the globe will explore the life-altering choices that must be made.

My Kind of Country

Arriving on: March 24 Not every day does one get to watch a high-profile country music competition and Apple TV+ is going to do just that with My Kind of Country, which will bring together music superstar Kacey Musgraves and Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon. The two of them are looking for the next big country star with the help of singer-songwriters Jimmie Allen, Mickey Guyton, and Orville Peck, who will be their scouts.

The Last Thing He Told Me

Arriving on: April 14 Not much is know about the show starring and executive produced by Jennifer Garner and produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, except that it’s based on Laura Dave’s successful book. The series follows Hannah (played by Garner), a woman who must forge a relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter Bailey (played by Angourie Rice) in order to find the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared.

Jane

Arriving on: April 14 A 10-episode series primarily for kids, inspired by the work of Dr. Jane Goodall, it stars Ava Louise Murchison as Jane Garcia, a nine-year-old budding environmentalist on a quest to save endangered animals.

The Afterparty

Arriving on: April 28 (second season) From Academy Award winners Chris Miller and Phil Lord, each episode of the show explores a different character’s account of one fateful evening. In season two, a wedding is ruined when the groom is murdered and every guest is a suspect. Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish) returns to help Aniq (Sam Richardson) and Zoe (Zoe Chao) solve the whodunnit.

Ted Lasso

Arriving in: Spring (third season) Very little is known about the new season but Apple has released a new image that shows Jason Sudeikis’ Lasso and Nick Mohammed’s Nate facing off, now as rival coaches. Of course, this was meant to be, given how season two ended. Previously, writer and the show’s star Brett Goldstein suggested that the third season could be the last for the sports sitcom. The story of an American football coach from Kansas City arriving in England to help AFC Richmond, an English football team, has become the anatomy of hope, ultimately becoming the Emmy darling in 2021, taking home four awards, including Oustanding Comedy Series.

The Big Door Prize

Arriving in: Spring 2023 Viewers are taken to the small town of Deerfield where nothing significant happens. Here lives Dusty (Chris O’Dowd), a devoted teacher, dedicated father, and loving husband. He’s not happy. So, when a mysterious machine shows up in the town’s general store, Dusty is one of the people tempted to peek at his supposed destiny.
