“While I understand that humour has its place, when it's misused, it can cause real harm. What may have started as a joke by someone is now creating unnecessary worry and playing with the emotions of those who care about me, especially my family,” reads the actor’s post.

Shreyas highlighted the deep impact the false news has had on his daughter Aadya. As a schoolgoing child, she is already anxious about her father's well-being and now finds herself facing additional questions and fears due to the spread of this misinformation, the actor mentioned.

“My little daughter, who goes to school every day, is already anxious about my well-being, constantly asking questions and seeking reassurance. This false news only deepens her fears, forcing her to confront more questions from her peers and teachers, stirring up emotions that we've been trying to manage as a family,” Shreyas also mentioned.

In his post, the Golmaal Again actor urged those spreading the rumour to reflect on the emotional toll it takes not only on the targeted individual but also on their loved ones. He noted that many people have sincerely prayed for his well-being, and it is disheartening to see humour used in a way that causes distress and hurts sentiments.

“To the trolls, I have a simple request: please stop. Don't joke around at the cost of others and don't do this to anyone else. I wouldn't want anything like this to happen to you ever so please be sensitive. Chasing engagement and likes should never come at the expense of others' feelings,” he signed off.

On the work front, Shreyas last appeared as Inspector Sachin Kamble in the Kartik Aaryan-led sports drama Chandu Champion. He will soon be seen in Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming political drama film Emergency. The actor is expected to play former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the movie.
