Shreya Ghoshal has recorded a song for Srijit Mukherji's upcoming film Winkle Twinkle. She was joined by Tamalika Golder, who is making her singing debut for a feature film with this project. Srijit shared pictures from the recording session on social media on Tuesday.

This recording follows the release of the film’s first-look poster last month, which features a broken statue of Lenin, with two lead actors seated in front of it. Symbols like the hammer and sickle hint at the political theme of the story.

Shreya had last sung the song Baundule Ghuri for Srijit’s 2023 release Dawshom Awbotaar. Tamalika, on the other hand, had marked her singing debut with Srijit’s web series Durgo Rawhoshyo last year. She had lent her voice to the song Emni Emni Esho.

Winkle Twinkle is based on Bratya Basu’s play of the same name, which explores the ideological conflict between a father and son. Sabya, a former revolutionary and once a wanted criminal, returns after two decades to find himself at odds with his son Indra, who now supports a political ideology in stark contrast to his father’s beliefs.

Ritwick Chakraborty is expected to play Sabya, a role originally performed by Debshankar Halder on stage, while Parambrata Chattopadhyay is expected to portray Indra, previously played by Rajatava Dutta.
