Actress Shraddha Kapoor has become the second most-followed Indian on Instagram after cricketer Virat Kohli, surpassing actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
The development comes close on the heels of the roaring success of her latest horror comedy Stree 2, which has already collected Rs 516 crore nett at the domestic box office since its August 15 release.
On Wednesday, Shraddha had 92.7 million followers on Instagram on the social media platform against Priyanka’s 91.9 million followers. Virat remains the most followed Indian with 270 million followers.
While Shraddha leads on Instagram, Priyanka is more popular on X (formerly Twitter), with 27.4 million followers compared to Shraddha’s 14.2 million.
At the time this report was filed, Shraddha was the most-followed Indian actress on Instagram, surpassing Alia Bhatt (85.2 million followers), Katrina Kaif (80.4 million followers) and Deepika Padukone (80 million followers).

Stree 2, also starring Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi, is set in Madhya Pradesh's Chanderi and follows the story of a headless monster named Sirkata who kidnaps girls in the village.
The original 2018 film recounted how Shraddha’s character acquired the powers of Stree after tangling a chunk of the ghost’s braid with her own.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the sequel also features Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles, with cameo appearances by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia. Produced under the banner of Maddock Films, Stree 2 is backed by Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios.
On the work front, Shraddha is expected to headline Vishal Furia’s upcoming film Naagin.
Priyanka will next appear in Ilya Naishuller's Heads of State alongside Idris Elba, John Cena, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root and Carla Gugino. The actress has also wrapped up shooting for Frank Ewen Flowers’ upcoming actioner The Bluff.
