Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer horror comedy Stree 2 breached the Rs 200-crore mark at the Indian box office on Sunday, the fourth day of its theatrical run, as per trade figures.
The Amar Kaushik-helmed film garnered Rs 9.4 crore nett from its preview shows, followed by Rs 55.4 crore nett on its opening day. The momentum continued with Rs 35.3 crore nett on the second day, Rs 45.7 crore nett on the third day, and an impressive Rs 58.2 crore nett on Day 4, taking the film’s total domestic collection to Rs 204 crore nett.
According to the producers of the film, Stree 2 has grossed Rs 283 crore worldwide so far. “The Box Office Juggernaut that’s BREAKING and SHATTERING records! Thank you audience, for making it happen. ,” the official handle of Maddock Films wrote on X.
Released on August 15, Stree 2 hit the screens alongside two other Hindi films — Khel Khel Mein headlined by Akshay Kumar and Vedaa starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh. During the extended weekend, Stree 2 emerged as the clear winner, easily outperforming its competitors.
The Mudassar Aziz-helmed comedy film earned only Rs 13.95 crore nett in its first four days. Similarly, Nikkhil Advani’s action drama failed to make a significant impact, bringing in just Rs 13.25 crore nett during the same period.
Stree 2 is the latest instalment in Maddock Films’ supernatural universe. The film is the fifth entry in the franchise, following Stree (2018), Roohi (2021), Bhediya (2022) and Munjya (2024). In Stree 2, the town of Chanderi faces a new terror as a mysterious creature called Sarkata begins abducting women.
Apart from Shraddha and Rajkummar, the film boasts a stellar cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, with special appearances by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia.
