Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is set to make his debut as a host with the chat show Dhawan Karenge, slated to stream on JioCinema Premium from May 20, the streamer announced on Thursday.
“Aapka favourite Gabbar, aa raha hai ek naye andaz mein! Get ready for gupshup, stories aur masti se bhara naya show, with none other than
@SDhawan25, featuring the biggest guests in the country! Dhawan Karenge, streaming 20 May onwards, only on JioCinema Premium,” JioCinema wrote alongside a video featuring Shikhar hosting Bollywood celebrities Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Honey Singh and internet sensation Bhuvan Bam.
“Main cricket pitch pe toh chauke maarta hu, par yahan mere toh chakke hi ur jayenge (I hit many fours on the cricket pitch, but I might get a bit crazy here),” the 38-year-old cricketer says in the video. He recreates Akshay’s famous dialogue, “Don’t angry me,” which prompts the actor to break into laughter. Shikhar is also seen dancing with Taapsee to dhol beats. The subsequent scenes highlight hilarious chats with Honey Singh and content creator-turned-actor Bhuvan Bam.
Dhawan Karenge will feature several Bollywood stars as well as cricketers including Rishabh Pant and Harbhajan Singh.
On the show, guests will engage in a variety of interactive sessions like reciting shayaris and comedic reenactments of the ‘Dhawan pose’.
Produced by One Digital Entertainment, Dhawan Karenge will stream on JioCinema Premium from May 20.
