After its 100-day run in theatres, Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s espionage thriller Raktabeej, starring Victor Banerjee, Abir Chatterjee, and Mimi Chakraborty, is all set for its digital premiere on Hoichoi on February 18. The film will have its world TV premiere on Star Jalsa on the same day.
“2023's blockbuster #Raktabeej is coming to #hoichoi on 18th Feb! It is a #FilmyFebruary! ,” the streaming platform wrote on X.
The announcement coincided with the birthday of Mimi Chakraborty.
Raktabeej, which released during Durga Puja last year, was pitted against other major releases like Prosenjit-starrer Dawshom Awbotaar, Dev-starrer Bagha Jatin and Koel Mallick’s Jongole Mitin Mashi.
The movie, loosely based on the Khagragarh blasts that shook West Bengal in 2014, follows IB officer Pankaj Sinha (Abir Chatterjee) who teams up with police officer Sanjukta Roy (Mimi Chakraborty) to thwart a group of extremists plotting to assassinate the President of India, played by the veteran actor Victor Banerjee.
The digital debut of Raktabeej follows the recent success of Dawshom Awbotaar, which had its digital premiere earlier this month and is currently streaming on Hoichoi.
