After the resounding success of their 2023 release Raktabeej, director duo Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy have announced their next Durga Puja release Bohurupi starring Abir Chatterjee.

Shiboprosad himself will play a key role in the upcoming film alongside the leading pair of Ritabhari Chakraborty and Koushani Mukherjee. This is the second time both Abir and Ritabhari would be sharing screen space in a feature film after Aritra Mukherjee’s 2023 drama Fatafati, which was produced by Shiboprosad and Nandita’s Windows Production.

Abir would reunite with the director duo in Bohurupi after Raktabeej in which the actor played a central intelligence officer opposite Mimi Chakraborty’s superintendent of police.

Shiboprosad and Nandita recently wrapped up shooting for their summer 2024 release Amaar Boss, which will mark the return of Rakhee Gulzar on the big screen after 21 years. Abir, on the other hand, will be next seen in Premendu Bikash Chaki’s Alaap opposite Mimi Chakraborty.

Bohurupi will be clashing with Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka at the box office this Durga Puja. The film marks Srijit’s collaboration with Dev for the first time since Zulfiqar (2016). Tekka will also feature Rukmini Maitra and Swastika Mukherjee in pivotal roles.
