Shiboprosad Mukherjee is pulling out all the stops for the promotion of his film Bohurupi, set to release on October 8. In a unique campaign, the actor-filmmaker, accompanied by folk artist Nanichora Das Baul, is making appearances in various locations, dressed as a Bohurupi (folk artists known for disguising themselves in different roles).
Earlier this week, Shiboprosad visited the home of Tollywood star Jeet. The actor, not expecting the visit, was left stunned when Shiboprosad suddenly emerged in his disguise. Jeet exclaimed, “There’s Shibu standing right there!”
According to Shiboprosad, this surprise visit was not just for fun but also fulfilling Nanichora’s wish to meet Jeet. Nanichora also performed the Bohurupi Rap with Shiboprosad, which left Jeet thrilled.
Shiboprosad also dropped by Tollywood couple Raj Chakrabarty and Subhashree Ganguly’s home, creating a stir in his Bohurupi costume. Raj joined in on the fun, dancing with Shiboprosad and Nanichora.
Raj and Subhashree lauded Shiboprosad’s efforts to bring Bengali folk culture to younger audiences, like their son Yuvan.
The Bohurupi team also paid a visit to filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury at Navina cinema.
Directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad, Bohurupi follows the story of a police officer (Abir Chatterjee) chasing a bank dacoit (Shiboprosad). The film also stars Koushani Mukherjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty.
