Inspired by Sherlock Holmes, Shekhar Home is a thrilling detective drama series starring Kay Kay Menon as a brilliant detective. Set in Bengal during the early 1990s, the series follows Shekhar Home as he tackles a series of seemingly unsolvable mysteries. Along the way, he meets Dr. Jayvrat Sahni (Ranvir Shorey) who becomes his crime-solving partner. Together, they embark on a journey to solve intricate cases across eastern India. The second series in Hoichoi’s Best of Bengal collection, Parineeta is an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel of the same name. Directed by Aditi Roy, the series is a romantic tale interwoven with the societal challenges of pre-Independence India. It features Debchandrima Singha Roy and Gaurav Chakrabarty as Lalita and Shekhar, respectively. Parineeta has been previously adapted multiple times for the screen, most recently by Pradeep Sarkar in the 2005 Bollywood hit featuring Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan.
