Shekhar Home: Kay Kay Menon to turn sleuth in Srijit Mukherji’s adaptation of Sherlock Holmes stories

The JioCinema series also features Rasika Dugal, Ranvir Shorey, Kirti Kulhari and Dibyendu Bhattacharya

Actor Kay Kay Menon is gearing up to lead Srijit Mukherji’s Shekhar Home, a new series based on the Sherlock Holmes stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, for JioCinema, announced the streamer alongside a short teaser.

The 10-second teaser comes in the form of a puzzle, with pieces falling into place to form the first-look image of Menon’s character.

Disclaimer: This Programme is an original work of fiction inspired from literary works by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle which are in public domain,” the streamer wrote on X alongside the announcement teaser.

Apart from Menon, the cast of Shekhar Home also includes Rasika Dugal, Ranvir Shorey, Kirti Kulhari and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.

Kay Kay and Srijit had worked together in the Netflix anthology series Ray, where Menon had played the lead role in the story titled Behrupiya, based on Satyajit Ray’s short story Bohurupi.

The actor was last seen in the Netflix series The Railway Men, where he starred alongside R Madhavan, Divyenndu, Babil Khan, Sunny Hinduja,and Juhi Chawla Mehta. He will next appear in Prime Video’s Citadel: Honey Bunny alongside Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Sikandar Kher, Saqib Saleem, and Emma Canning. This series is directed by Raj & DK.

Srijit’s most recent release was the romantic comedy Oti Uttam featuring Anindya Sengupta, Roshni Bhattacharya and Uttam Kumar, who appears on the screen through visual effects created from clippings from his black-and-white movies. He is currently awaiting the release of his next feature film Padatik, a biopic on Mrinal Sen which is slated to hit theatres on August 15.
