Actress Sharvari Wagh's aspiring boxer dances her heart out during the festival of colours in the music video for Holiyaan, a fresh foot-tapping number from Nikkhil Advani’s upcoming action thriller Vedaa, dropped on Saturday.
Shared by record label Zee Music Company on YouTube, the two-minute-and-45-second-long music video captures Sharvari grooving to peppy beats as handfuls of gulals are tossed in all directions.
Holiyaan’s hook step — rubbing of fists followed by a thumka — and Arushi Kaushal’s lyrics make the track a perfect Holi number.
A particular sequence features Sharvari performing a puppet dance, dressed in a white-and-golden ghagra choli.
Interposed with clips from the trailer, the video also features John Abraham and Sharvari locking horns with the antagonists in fierce action sequences.
Holiyaan is sung by Nikhita Gandhi and Asha Sapera. Kruti Mahesh serves as the choreographer.
John plays ex-army officer Major Abhimanyu Kanwar, Vedaa’s mentor, in the film. A lower-caste oppressed woman, Vedaa seeks to teach a lesson to her abusers.
Abhishek Banerjee plays the chief antagonist, a man in power who enjoys inflicting pain on the poor. Tamannaah Bhatia stars as John’s love interest in the actioner.
Touted as “a story of bravery, of the power of one”, Vedaa is written by The Buckingham Murders and Mission Majnu writer Aseem Arrora. The film is produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with John Abraham, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Minnaskshi Das.
Vedaa is slated to hit theatres on August 15.
